Yahoo It's Independence Day

Happy Independence Day to our neighbours to the south!!!!

It was a great long weekend here. We had visitors and more visitors ;-D The puppies are well socialized as you can see and have been learning that not every interaction involves food. They are happy for the cuddle time too.

Look at those ears. they are starting to open and hear. They now respond to sound so it is important that we bang pots, play crazy loud music (not a stretch for me, Tony suffers) and other unpredictable noises.

Pack of puppies on the pirate blanket. absorbing the stories and the glory.

Nikki comes by to give each of the puppies hugs and loving

Devon has returned to play with the puppies. They are almost as big as he is...

and he brought his police truck....

and it makes noise and lights flash. What you can't see here is green boy howling and barking at the siren.....

these guys are hungry and will take a meal any way it comes....

Tony, before coffee, double fisting baby bottles ;-D

Stealing Bobi's meal

Yup, he needs coffee ....

awe, sleeping beauty with her ears standing straight up...

The puppies are now eating a couple of times a day from the bowl. We take it slow to start with to make sure that they don't develop diarrhea or constipation. We are still feeding formula from a bottle twice a day. By the weekend we will be adding ground kibble to the pablum. Once this starts it is time to wean the pups. Digested dog food poop can be toxic and because the bitch still cleans up after the puppies we need to be careful how long she is with the pups and minimize the amount of 'clean up' she is allowed to do.

Our weather here has finally graced us with sunshine for the foreseeable next week. We will move the puppies outside during the day for the next couple of days, brining them in at night, and then they will learn to stay outside.  Toys will be introduced and play becomes more intense.

Off to help Tony with the last feeding of the night and then sleep.....

Hope you all had a great Independence Day, shared some family time, some food and had some fire works ;-D

Night all!!!
