fan clubs visit Aug 13, 2011

Friday night was Jessi's first night with all the kids. Up until now I have been getting up several times a night to switch the two groups of kids. Here she is Saturday morning and not looking too worse for wear ;-)

Allie is the official puppy whisperer!! awe !!

Ok, maybe mom, Sharon, is the real master of puppy relaxation!!!

Soloman is no slouch either in the happy puppy mode. I ask you, who's cuter????

Jenny, aka mom, has decided that puppy lovin' is the best relaxation therapy available to mankind. I tend to agree ;-)

ok, I gotta ask, does anyone else think this is just tooooo awe...????????
Blue boy
Puppy number two was born at 1905 and weighed 530 grams. August 14th he weighed in at 930 grams. this morning he was on all four trembling legs and took his first steps, sorry folks, not fast enough with the camera to catch the action ;-(

Black boy
Puppy number four was born at 1940 and weighed 504 grams. August 14th he weighed in at 1008 grams, that's just a hair over a kilo!!!

Orange boy
Puppy number five was born at 2005 and weighed 528 grams. August 14th he weighed in at 952 grams

Olive green boy
the first puppy on the left, is puppy number six and was born at 2100, weighing in at490 grams. August 14th he weighed in at 962 grams

Multicolour ribbon girl
Puppy number eight was born at 0900 Aug 6th and she was no light weight. She weighed 560 grams. August 14th he weighed in at 1092 grams that makes her the largest puppy in the group!!! Lots of bone and a healthy appetite.

Jessi babies the first week

Awe, full tummy, a warm bed and zzzzzzz......

Look at the belly on this one!!! Can't say he's not eating well ;-)

Yellow girl
Puppy number one was born at 1745 and weighed 485 grams. August 14th she weighed in at 900 grams and she had her first manicure, ok they all had their front toe nails trimmed so they don't scratch Jessi up too bad when they are nursing. The back toes (pedicure) are done later so they can push themselves forward on the bedding.

Purple girl
Puppy number seven was born at 0630ish Aug 6th and weighed 526 grams. August 14th she weighed in at 970 grams. She's a talker and really let's me know when she's not happy.

Lime green girl
Puppy number three was born at 1920 and weighed 430 grams. August 14th she weighed in at 830 grams. She is fine boned and perfect.

Jessi babies day 0

Here we go!!!! After a labour that started at 0300 in the morning, yellow girl arrives at 1745 and weighs in at 485 grams. For anyone doing the math, that's 12 hours and 45 minutes of labour. I will tell you that once she started to deliver things were speedy.

Here we are with what we think is the end of puppy delivery (4 boys and 2 girls) and I go to bed to catch a few minutes of sleep......

I get up and find that she has gifted us with 2 more girls..... sneaky puppy!!!! Puppy deliveries that long after the group are not that uncommon. Puppies may need to migrate from under the rib cage all the way down the uterine horns. Palpation can be confusing because they are so high up that it feels like mom's had something to eat and it's sitting in her gut.

I split the litter to make sure everybody eats and here is a foot that is trying to escape the warming pad.... maybe a hormonal moment??? Girls, do we know anything about that?????

Jessi & Kelevra puppies arrived Aug 5, 2011

Jessi, is a West German import that arrived in Canada last year.

Jessi, pictured here has red lines super imposed over her photo. The red measurements and angles are the German Shepherd breed standard that meant to judge the show quality of a GSD. As you can see, she's perfect. Her rich colors and short body are an excellent compliment to our breeding program.

August 5, 2011 Jessi blessed us with 4 boys and 4 girls. All are black and tan which is not a surprise for this breeding. This makes another 5th generation litter for our program!!! Our kitchen is all a buzz with the new litter of puppies.

As of August 14th there is still 1 boy and 1 girl available.

Bad bunny plays at our house....

Bad bunny, bad bunny, what you going to do??? We had some fun in the back yard with Bobi and the Easter bunnies. Check out our youtube channels to see the video.... listen carefully to the words of the music......

Morgan loves to ride the quad. She enjoys the wind in her face and the escape from the stressors of the city. The smell of campfire in her coat reminds her of another great get away adventure.

Mustafa, is learning to wear a muzzle and ride on top of Tony's shoulders. The idea of having the puppy comfortable while up on a person's shoulders is emergency preparedness. In case the dog is ever harmed while out of range of a vehicle and needs to be carried out the shoulder lift is easier on the person carrying the dog for any distance. Here's hoping you never need it.

Mustafa, is modeling the muzzle. It's a new look for us. We haven't tried to muzzle train this early before but..... someone asked us why not..... we didn't have a reason so we tested out the theory. Halter training happens from almost day one on a new born horse. Mufasa seems to agree that early training is less stressful than waiting until he's older.

Dallas has retired and is moving to Montana to share the rest of her life protecting some very lovely folks. She has her own room in the motor home. Adopt me please!!! ;-)

I finally got the password back!!!http://www.blogger.com/

Can you believe it's been so long. I couldn't get the blog to open and add any updates. So I will do a whirlwind update for what the puppy world has had to offer over the last year ;-)
As you can see Morgan starts to grow and get that fuzzy bear look ;-)

Morgan's early days were spent on the set of Marley and Me the Puppy Years where her house mate and serogate auntie Ocean played the role of Turbo. The straight to DVD movie should be available this fall.

Morgan is the ultimate pirate for Halloween 2010.

and before I knew it she was peaking over the edge of the kitchen gate and watching every move we made in the other room. She is such a happy puppy!!!
Flash forward a few months to April 4, 2011. Dallas & Rush, Morgan's parents, give us 3 more beautiful puppies. Zari, Zenzation and Zeriouz (Mustafa). Zari and Zeni are black and Mustafa is sable.
Here they are a few days old and growing like weeds. Zari has moved to Ontario and Zeni and Mufasa are staying with us.
